Description: A book designed for individual or group lessons, this book is very attractive and comes with a CD of performance and backing tracks. The illustrations in this book are very helpful and include insets called "Hot Tips" such as: "Never clean your flute with silver polish-it can clog up the keys!" The songs are progressive and begin with three head joint songs, there are clear fingering illustrations and very good explanation of terms. At the end of each section, there are "quizzes" to reinforce concepts. There are also excellent directions on how to assemble the flute. The one downside to this publication is that the piano accompaniment book and teacher's manual are sold separately.
